Attacking midfielder Craig Hignett bagged more than 20 goals as Barnsley made the play-off final against Ipswich Town at Wembley in 2000. Hignett scored a wonder goal in that game but the Reds lost 4-2. The former Middlesborough star was later sold to Blackburn Rovers for £2.25million. Hignett is fondly remembered as one of the most creative, flair players to ever wear the red shirt of Barnsley. His cheeky Scouse accent has made him a popular TV and radio pundit since retiring from the game in 2007
