RIP Mr Barnsley

Barnsley Football Club  Supporters’ Trust is truly saddened today to hear that Norman Rimmington, known affectionately by our fans as ‘Mr Barnsley’, has passed away at the age of 93.

Football has lost one of its true greats. A man who dedicated his life to the beautiful game. ‘Rimmo’ was a true Club legend and a man who represented the Club with the utmost pride and dedication.  He was player, coach, groundsman, kit man and more at BFC.  Barnsley FC ran through Norman’s veins, and he embodied everything good about our town, and our people.

His spirit will live on forever at our great club. His warmth and gentle, kind approach to life and those around him was an inspiration.

Norman will be deeply missed by everyone and we would like to send our sincere condolences to his family at this sad time.

Rest in peace Rimmo. You will be truly missed by all of us.
