0The Price of Championship Football 2016
Alan Bloore has been looking at the price of Championship football for the 2016/17 season, how it compares with previous seasons and what it’s likely to cost us to visit away grounds. Here’s his report and a download to the full spreadsheet with all the detail:
These prices have been obtained from the club’s website and a check of the clubs visiting them to see what their supporters will be charged.
Every effort has been made to verify these prices but I can’t guarantee that the prices will remain the same throughout the season.
NOTES
1, MOST CLUBS HAVE CATEGORIES
Very few of these have released the full list of the relevant category per team.
Like Barnsley, they will be releasing details of these nearer the day of game.
2, MOST CLUBS INCREASE THEIR PRICES ON THE DAY.
These vary from £2.00 to £5.00 so be alert to these.
3 STAGGERED PRICING
DERBY INTRODUCED STAGGERED PRICING 3 YEARS AGO. IT WOULD APPEAR THEY MAY DO THAT THIS SEASON
This means they put tickets on sale a lot earlier, usually 5-6 weeks before the game.
Tickets start off at lowest price and increase in price in stages upto the day of the game.
I have checked with the English football league (EFL) for any changes introduced for this season. There has been no change.
So far having checked all clubs, there looks to be no breach of the rules.
HOPEFULLY THESE WILL SHOW HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO MONITOR PRICING AT EVERY CLUB.
