0Remembering Reds: 2022/23
Ahead of our last home league game of the season, we remember all Barnsley Supporters who have sadly passed away during this memorable season. We are sure all Barnsley Supporters will appropriately respect these on Sunday along with Barnsley FC.
The family of Paul Kershaw has asked me to notify all those that knew Paul, of his passing on 24 April.
Paul has been a fully paid-up member of the Supporters Club/Trust since our launch in October 1994.
He attended meetings regularly since then and was always fully supportive of the initiatives the Supporters Club & Supporters Trust have put forward in the last 30 years.
Paul had been to our game against Oxford United on Saturday 22 April. Immediately after the game he went on a short holiday to Ripon. Unfortunately, he fell ill on Monday and passed away shortly afterwards.
Paul had been a Barnsley Supporter for over 60 years. Even though his health had deteriorated over the last few years, he continued to follow the Reds with his usual passion home and away. His last away game was at Lincoln City on 18th April 2023.
His family is aware of the significance of Sunday’s game concerning the commemoration of all Reds we have lost this season; they would though like to request all Supporters remember Paul in the 18th minute to show their appreciation for his dedication to the Reds right up until his death.
We would also like to send our condolences to the family of Anton Roberts who sadly passed away after the Lincoln game.
Regards
Alan Bloore
BFCST Chairman
